US BELT AND PUPPY PAW BUCKLE. SOLD
This belt and buckle are typical for what the typical union infantryman wore early in the war. The bridle leather belt is fired with an oval US buckle. The belt has tooled lines and punched holes. There is a leather loop but it is not seen to the belt. The leather is strong and has no breaks or weak spots.
The buckle is stamped brass and lead filled. It has the oval studs that fit into two slots on the belt. This type of back, offer called PUPPY PAW was used prewar and early into the war. They were replaced by the arrow back buckle.
