    Remington New Model Army

The New Model Army started production in 1863.  Total production was around 120,000 revolvers.  The loading lever was modified from the old model army.  And safety notches were added to the cylinder.

This example is from the 47000 serial number range.  The new model production started around serial number 15000.  This one is all origional with grey metal and some areas of light pitting.  Also there are areas of bluing on the frame and barrel.  The barrel marks are clear and readable, with some wear to the third line that says New Model.  The action is solid.  The wood grips have some bumps and a visible cartouche.  These became the workhorse of the Union Cavalry.
