P1861 ENLONGATED BALL CARTRIDGE BOX

P1861 Enlongated Ball Cartridge Box

This box is based on the P1861 Enlongated Ball Pattern box.  However it has some interesting differences, that suggest it may have been made to suggest improvements to the pattern.  It is unmarked.  The sides are formed with a raised center portion.  Also the implement pouch has rivets on each side at wear points.  These features are not typical and we're incorporated in the box during construction.  There are no marks on the box. 

The box itself is in excellent unused condition .  All stitching is tight and all buckles and straps are solid and strong.  The flap was not cut for a plate.
