    British Irish Constabulary Carbine

    SOLD

This is part of the British pattern 1842 series of arms.  This shorter barrel version was made for use in Ireland.  The lock is dated 1847 and marked Tower.  The lock action is solid.  The barrel has visible proof marks.  The metal is a grey patina with scattered areas of light pitting.  The stock is sound with the usual dings and scuffs.  It does have the British broad arrow stamp with BO and the date 1847.  The carbine is all original.  The small catch for the bayonet is missing.  It originally extended forward from the nosecap.  Markings are engraved on the buttplate.
