This box is a complete example of the 1864 Pattern with the embossed US.  It has all its straps and buckles firmly in place and is complete with the tins.

It has a makers name stamped on the back between the waist belt loops.  S H Young from Newark NJ.   It has the pear shaped finial typical of this pattern
