This is a copy of the green bound Army Regulations.  The Regulations were revised in 1861 and reissued as Revised Army regulations with a Blue cover.  This book is sound and tight.  It shows wear.  It is identified with a pencil inscription to Charles S. Burnham 3rd N.H. Vols.  Hilton Head SC Jan 11th 1862.  He enlisted 8/6/1861 and was commissioned on 8/23/1861.  He served in Company F and was promoted to captain on 6/27/1862.  He was discharged on 12/6/1863.
