The 1855 rifle was made at Harpers Ferry only and was in production from 1857 to 1861.  This bayonet has no marks on the blade and on the grip has inspectors initials and a rack number.  

The bayonet is complete with a functioning locking lug.  The blade is a brown patina and has a few small nicks. The brass is a deep golden color.  The scabbard is complete with no breaks or repairs.  It does have some wear.
