1850 Staff and Field Officers Sword

1850 Staff and Field Officers Sword.   SOLD

This sword and scabbard is the model to be carried by field grade officers - major to colonel.  The brass guard is larger than the foot officers and has a large US.  

This example has an unmarked etched blade that does have "iron proof" etched on the top of the blade.  The etching is visible though it shows wear.  The blade is a grey color.  The hilt has shark skin grip showing some wear.  Some of the wire wrapping is missing.  

The scabbard is complete with brass mounts.   SOLD
