This 1816 bayonet is the flint pattern with the 14 inch blade. I suspect it had some of the blade removed. The socket is 3 inches long and it has the T slot. This bayonet was covered in black paint and that has protected the blade which is nice. Therecare some numbers on the socket. There is a small US with an A above. This inspector initial one the smash US is an indicator of Harpers Ferry production.
