US Carbine Cartridge Box

US Carbine Cartridge Box  SOLD

This carbine cartridge box is the type issued to Federal Cavalry during the war.  It is complete except for the wood cartridge box that slipped into the box.  Also it has one of the side seams detached in the front.  See photos.  The rest of the stitching is intact and tight.  There are rivets on the waist belt loops and the latch tab on the outer flap.  Both buckles are firmly attached.  There is some flaking on the leather.  The inner flap is marked " MAKER" and the outer flap is marked "..DAVEY & CO. NEWARK NJ".
