Schuylkill Arsenal Jacket

These jackets are sometimes called signal corps jackets. They were popular.  They were made from late 1863 on and we're issued in both the east and west.  This is made with high quality dark blue wool.  It has 11 small eagle buttons on the front.  There are functional 2 button cuffs.  While issued with button configuration this coat has a button added on each side of the collar.  The lining is complete but there are some worn areas.  It is a white material in the body of the jacket and the sleeves.  Each sleeve has markings including the SA for Schuylkill Arsenal.  It is size 3 and marked both with dots and the number.
