RESTOCKED FRENCH MUSKET

Restocked French Musket. SOLD

Most of the metal parts on this musket come from a French 1766 musket.  These were imported to the rebellious colonies in America during revolution.  Many were restocked during and after the revolution.  The shape of the wrist and the lower band indicate that this one was probably restocked after 1800.  

The lock still has the markings of the French Arsenal where it was made.  The barrel is over 44 inches long and has a small chip out of the barrel at the muzzle where the metal has worn thin.    SOLD
