QUARTER PLATE ARMED UNION SOLDIER

Armed Union Soldier   SOLD

This quarter plate tintype shows a full standing view of an armed union soldier.  He is holding a 1841 rifle with fixed saber bayonet.  He wears a belt but it is obscured by the Cape if his overcoat.  You can see part if the belt buckle and it looks like he has the 1855 rifle belt which has a frame buckle.  In his hand he holds his forage cap.  There are three brass letters on his cap.
