Federal Corporal

This is a tintype of a Union Soldier.  He is a corporal and holding and Enfield with a fixed bayonet.  The backdrop is one of the ones used in near Benton Barracks, so our subject was in St Louis at some point.  The image is quite pleasing with the tinting on the flag and the pants.  There are two small spots in the lower left where the emulsion is flaked but the rest of the image is strong and quite attractive.  SOLD
