D-Guard Confederate knife. SOLD
This consignment piece comes from a collector friend and is a nice example of the popular D-Guard Bowie. These knives were part of the going off to war gear for many southern soldiers. You see them is many early war pictures. Many soldiers found them to be heavy to carry and many were "lost". This example has a long forged blade with wood grips that have initials carved in the them. More pictures can be available. This knife is 18.75 inches long and the blade is 2 inches wide and 14" long.
