CS Ambrotype Richmond Depot Jacket

This Ambrotype is on John Diggs Co. D 26th Virginia.  He was promoted to 1st Corporal 10/17/1862 and Killed in action on 6/17/1864 at the battle of Webb's Farm during the Petersburg Campaign.  The image is 1/9th plate size and he is wearing what looks to be a Richmond type II depot jacket.  He is a fine looking young son of the south.
