Confederate Atlanta Arsenal Accoutrements
The cartridge box is a late war type produced in the Atlanta system.
The charactistics include:
Non scalloped outer flap, no Inner implement pouch, pointed waist belt loops, and a British style finial. This particular British finial looks to have come from a ball bag. Ball bags were imported as part of a complete British set. In the field they were not liked by the men and returned to the arsenal to be repurposed. The leather was used for cap pouches and the finials used as well.
The cap pouch is marked on the flap Atlanta Arsenal.
