The 1849 pocket was Colts most successful product with over 300000 produced. They were produced from 1849 to 1872.  They came in several barrel lengths.  There are close to 50 different varieties of this model. 

This example was produced in 1859 and has the Hartford Address.  It has a 4" barrel and all the serial numbers match including the wedge.   The metal is a plumb color, with hints of bluing.   The markings are all strong and clear and most of the cylinder scene is sharp and clear.  The action works well.  The grips have most of the original varnish remaining.
