This bayonet is marked JOHN GILL on the face of tge blade and dates from the first part of the 19th centurary. The socket is 4 inches long and the blade is 18 inches long. The metal is a smooth grey color with scattered areas of light pitting. This is a very nice example of a British bayonet from the Napoleonic or war of 1812 era.
