AMERICAN 1795/ 1812 Bayonet

This bayonet has an L shaped socket.  There was a bridge which has been cut during the period of use.  The blade is 14" long and has a small face flute.  There is a clear US on the face of the blade.  The socket is 2 5/8" inches long.  There is a B in front of the end of the slot in the socket.  The metal has a smooth deep brown patina with scattered areas of light pitting.
