1861 Richmond Publication "THE VOLUNTEERS' HANDBOOK"  SOLD

This manual is a wonderful copy of this work by Capt J K Lee of the first Virginia Regiment.  It is an "Abridgement of Hardee's Tactics" and has the musket manual of arms from Scotts as well.  These works were printed in large numbers at the beginning of the war - this example being in the Twentieth thousand.  This example has a hand written Ink ID in the front "Robert H Wood ; Natchez Miss; 1861" in the front.  I have not researched him.  

The book itself is tight and has a nice soft cloth cover with a faded yellow paper label on the front with the title and "Richmond VA"  

It displays well
