Colt 1849 Pocket SOLD
This 5 inch barrel pocket is a nice example of this popular pistol. The serial number of this pistol indicates it was made in 1856 and it is all matching. The metal has a brown patina with traces of finish on the underside of the barrel. There is some silver remaining on the trigerguard. The action is good. The cylinder scene is clear and 75 - 80%. The grips are nice with most of the varnish remaining. These were Colt's most popular selling percussion revolver.
With the start of the civil war you many of the soldiers going off to war had their picture made holding one of these.
