This son of the south is shown seated.  The image is clear and shows a young man with a determined look on his face.  His uniform looks homemade and to me appears to be a frock coat.  The front skirt edge runs down his leg.  The coat is somewhat ill fitting.  This comes in a full repaired pressed leather case.

This surfaced in Kentucky and may be a soldier from that state.
