Susat Civil War Antiques

This pistol is similar to the Allen pepperboxes but is unmarked and differs in some details.  The differences I noted are that the location of the sideplate screw is  further forward than on the Allen.  And the angle of the back of the frame where it meets the grip is different than an Allen.  Still there are many similarities and this may be an unmarked Allen.

The pistol is a 6 shot 32 caliber with 4" barrels.  The metal is a sa lotmooth brown patina with some area of light scattered pitting.  The action works and there is engraving on the nipple shield.  One of the pins holding the nipple shield has seperated.  The wood grips are solid with a lot of varnish remaining.
