This Bayonet is a continental produced example of the British P1856/60 saber bayonet. It has the leather scabbard and the leather frog. The blade has a brown patina with scattered light pitting. There is a mark near the base of the blade. It is "A & A S" The last digit could be a symbol . The checkered leather grips are solid and present. As you can see the the leather scabbard if flaking. The frog is solid. And in case you are wondering this bayonet does not fit the Ohio short rifle elsewhere on my website.
