Colt 1851 Navy
This Colt 1851 navy was produced in 1861 and probably saw service in the Civil War. It has matching serial numbers including the wedge. The markings are clear and sharp. There is a US stamped on the frame that has a period look but is not the US used in the government purchases in the 1850s. The metal is grey patina with scattered areas of pitting. The cylinder scene shows wear with about 30 % remaining. The action is good. The wood grips have some dings and wear and have a silver 5 pointed star inletted in the right side.
